Meet Your Instructor
Hello, I’m Robin Hathaway! Although I have always had a passion and interest for people and communication, I developed a deep-seeded passion for communication – and how it affects daily life – during my undergrad at Rhode Island College in a Persuasion class I chose as part of my major. In my senior year, I was fortunate enough to partake in an independent study on Advanced Public Speaking and Speech Writing. During that time, I initiated and was invited to speak at various organizations on multiple topics.
Prior to going to college (for the first time at age 34), I filled a variety of roles including Office Manager, Sales Rep, Promoter and Booking Agent. After earning my MBA, from Bryant University, I filled various corporate roles and found success as a Senior Account Executive and Recruiting Consultant for Monster Worldwide, a Community Relations Officer for The Washington Trust Company, and as a regional Branch Manager for Adecco Staffing/Adecco USA.
When I wasn’t working, I was fulfilling duties as a board member, as a Year Up mentor, and as a professional vocalist and entertainer.

I have been an instructor/speaker for countless organizations including the Center for Women and Enterprise, Roger Williams University’s Gateway to College program, Open Doors RI, Year Up, Narragansett Housing Authority, East Greenwich Housing Authority, Providence Housing Authority, Providence Firefighters Relief Association, RI Department of Labor and Training, and various others.
Many of my topics have been based in communication. Currently, I am a certified life coach, keynote speaker and workshop instructor, and still sing on stage in various venues all over New England. My favorite “job” is presenting in-person workshops to companies.
